A 24-Month Journey Toward Transforming Circular Economy Education Begins!
The Circular Economy in Digital Storytelling (CEDIS) project officially kicked off on 1 December 2023, marking the start of a transformative 24-month initiative aimed at reshaping how Circular Economy (CE) principles are taught across Europe. With rapid technological advancements and the urgent need for sustainable mindsets among learners, CEDIS brings together a powerful alliance to modernize CE education through innovative digital storytelling methods.
Funded by the European Union, the project unites 8 partners from 6 countries—Germany, Italy, Türkiye, Spain, Poland, and Portugal—each contributing unique expertise in education, technology, cultural heritage, community engagement, and innovative pedagogical approaches.
At its core, CEDIS aims to:
- Strengthen educators’ and students’ understanding of Circular Economy concepts
- Integrate digital storytelling as an engaging pedagogical tool
- Produce practical resources, best-practice collections, and comparative insights across Europe
- Foster environmental awareness, creativity, and digital skills among young people and adult learners
Throughout the next two years, the partnership will collaborate closely to conduct research, develop interactive learning tools, collect inspiring CE practices, and implement pilot activities in schools and communities across Europe. The final results will support teachers, trainers, schools, and educational institutions seeking fresh and innovative approaches to sustainability education.
The project is coordinated by LernBar Europa e.V. (Germany) and implemented by an interdisciplinary consortium including organizations specializing in cultural heritage, digital innovation, vocational training, school education, and adult learning.
Together, the CEDIS partners share a common vision: to empower learners through creativity, sustainability, and digital transformation—building a more environmentally conscious and resilient Europe.
Stay tuned for upcoming project milestones, pilot stories, and news from all partner countries!
